The idea of a blog is to write what you know about…and drill that into the ground. You’re supposed to show off every little piece of knowledge in your brain about a said topic to prove that you are an expert. Well, we’re all experts at something. My area of expertise happens to be in knowledge of the game of baseball.
In today’s society, it’s so unique to have young people be obsessed with the sport of baseball. Many kids are moving towards football and lacrosse instead of America’s pasttime. It’s too “slow” and just plain “boring,” are some of the excuses I hear for kids today when I change the channel from a crappy kid’s show to the Yankees. Well, I grew up in a family where this sport was my life. And I know there are still people out there that truly believe that America’s pastime is the most exciting sport in the world.
And, I write for my fellow females. Girls can’t be sports writers? HA! Today, we live in a world where women can do anything. Becoming a sports reporter and working for ESPN has been my dream job since I was 10 years old, but I haven’t quite made it there yet. Still, I’m getting the opportunity to share my story and my obsession with other crazed fans and that is more than I can ask for.
Think I don’t know what I’m talking about? I don’t know everything, but I know my Yankees. So sit down and watch me write because one day, I’ll be taking over the sports writing world (I hope).
